Over 400 aspiring young musicians from the choir, band, Chinese and Western orchestras of the Music Office (MO) will showcase their talents in the Gala with a splendid concert programme crossing musical borders at all times, and demonstrate the passion and vividness of young musicians. Music aficionados will be led to envisage the harmonious elegance of flourishing bauhinia flowers, and touch on the vibrant cultural ties between Italy and Spain. The most outstanding MO trainees and music group members will also be awarded in the Gala.
Concert Programme includes choral works Across the Vast, Eternal Sky and Measure Me, Sky!; Vivaldi’s Concerto No. 10 in B minor for 4 Violins, Cello and Strings and Purcell’s Chacony in G minor; dynamic symphonic band works Sheltering Sky and Ride; gaohu concerto The Bauhinia composed by the Chinese maestro Gu Guanren. The extraordinary masterpieces Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien and Chabrier's España will conclude the Gala with the richness of the fascinating Southern European flair and sentiment.
